Saying that "almost every musical criticism that has appeared of late I have considered to savour strongly either of partiality or prejudice," that he plans to write with another person fair and impartial accounts of current musical events, enclosing [not present] his observations on [Mercadante's] Il giuramento, asking if Hook would consider printing the account [in his New Monthly Magazine], etc.
